Our summer season is over but with the floodlights we are continuing as normal our popular club nights (and Sat mornings) - so lets see everyone on those courts.

As a finishing touch to all the recent refurbishment of the courts, the car park is being tarmaced - this will not interrupt play on the courts but for the morning of Saturday 21st Nov. and all day of Monday 23rd Nov. (until 6pm) the car park is 'out of bounds' and you will need to park your vehicle above the Millennium Green, some where around the church.

COACHING

Junior coaching continues into the winter with our LTA coach Steve on Thursdays from 4pm. Anyone interested please ring Steve on 07814 534998 to book a place.

Steve is also currently coaching a player on a one to one basis on a Sunday morning and has availability if anyone else is interested.

Adult coaching starts again on Thursday 12th Nov, 1.45-2.45pm for a six week period. Cost of £5 per person- just turn up on the day if you'd like to join in

2009 LEAGUE RESULTS

Whitecross Floodlight Mixed League 08/09 Eardisley came 2nd in a competitive league. Interested in playing in the team this year contact Julian Williams 01544 327569.

Herefordshire League results:- Men's A team will gain promotion, Ladies A& B teams will remain in their division and the Men's B, newly formed, team will stay as they began the season. Many thanks to our new B team captains Jo Jones and Mike Hawthorne and well done to everyone who took part - playing with commitment and good humour.

Look on the website for the dates of the men's winter league matches for details of when the courts are in use for home matches.

TOURNAMENTS

In August we held our usual, annual tournaments. Mixed Tournament winners:- Jan Yerby and John Reeves (r.up. Lizzy Johnston and Adam Bowen) Ladies Tournament:- Jane Milde and Emma Bowen (r.up. Anne Rampton and Ang Grunsell) Mens Tournament:- Mike Hawthorne. In October the men arranged a further tournament with refreshments and the enjoyable evening was won by Richard Evans.

Junior Tournament:- 1st David Haines, 2nd Tom Haines, 3rd Ryse Powell. Well done to Erin Cooke & James Abell who were named our best juniors.

Three of our up and coming Junior members took part in the County Closed Tournaments held a Manor Park, Malvern, with Will Haines winning 14U consolation, Adam Bowen reached the quarter finals and Oliver Blandford acquitted himself very well in the older group. Will Haines also won the Leominster 14U Tournament. Adam Bowen has been named top junior member of his year at Whitecross and Will Haines was 3rd. Well done boys.

At Eardisley Show a fun competition was organised by Norma and Emma with 'big hitters' t-shirts as prizes for the children and top prizes going to Nick Cooke, Douglas Like, Jenny Smith and Ryse Powell.

Good luck to Will Haines and Adam Bowen who have been picked to play for the County on 5th December!

Your Committee is working hard towards obtaining some more funding for 2010 to help subsidize coaching for all ages. We are taking a break until the New Year but please note the AGM is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17th at 8pm in the Club House. In the meantime, if anyone would like to become a member of the committee please let us know.

FINALLY, could we please remind you that it is your responsibility to collect the visitor fees from any guests you invite to play. This provides valuable income for the Club so please pass it on to a member of the committee.
