Mixed Open Adults Challenge Ladder

RULES FOR:
DAYLIGHT AND FLOODLIT
MIXED OPEN ADULTS CHALLENGE LADDER
OCTOBER 2011 THROUGH TO MARCH 2012
- Those entering before the 1st. October will be randomly placed
on the ladder,
- Entrants joining after the 1st. will start at the bottom,
-
Each participant can challenge the TWO immediate players above,
-
Having agreed a challenge failure to show or provide 24 hours notice
to cancel will result in the higher placed player forfeiting their
position, (15 minutes grace only can be allowed for later arrival),
-
The match will be the best of three sets, tie breaks on all at
6/6,
-
If bad weather, poor light or floodlights timed out intercede
during play both players can agree to reschedule the conclusion
of the match,
-
The winner takes the higher place, the looser the lower,
-
A loosing challenger may not challenge the same player for at
least seven days. However, they can challenge an alternative, eligible
player,
-
Those challenged can refuse twice. A third refusal results in
an automatic swop of positions,
-
(Challenges should be issued with reasonable times in mind, weather
and holidays etc., permitting),
-
If a player withdraws through injury they forfeit the match,
-
Non members taking part will pay a Games Fee of £4 per challenge,
-
(Because this is a competition the "three visit must join" club
rule will be wavered),
-
It is the responsibility of the club member playing to collect
the games fee and pass it on,
-
If two non members are playing they must contact a ladder committee
member before finalising the challenge to agree the best times to
play and how the games fee will be collected,
-
Participants must provide their e-mail and telephone contacts,
-
At the outset a simple ladder listing, with these contact details,
will be supplied to all participants,
-
The "ladder" will be found on our web site: www.eardisleytennis.co.uk,
-
Participants are required to report the outcome, sets and match,
of any challenge to the ladder coordinator, Peter Bishop, within
24 - 48 hours days of playing. (This is so we can keep the ladder
right up to date). Please agree which one of you will do this before
you part!
-
The on-line ladder will be updated as these results come in and/or
as new participants enter,
-
All issues/disputes will be brought before the ladder committee
who will make a decision that is final.
Ladder Committee: Emma Bowen, Peter Bishop, Julian Williams.
(Contact details provided separately).
