October 2007

Coaching -Ben Lett has done 5 hrs coaching a week during term time and run courses in the holidays. Friday night as a club night for juniors has been great for those that took part giving them an extra chance to improve their tennis and enjoy games organised by Ben. New Box Leagues are now in place and can still be played during the winter. Ben ran a mini tennis fun tournament for several different clubs and there was also a mini green event.

Juniors took part in various competitions - Harry Horlock went through to the regional level of a schools event and Oliver Blandford won a competition at Leominster. Will Haines & Adam Bowen competed at the County Closed Tournament-doing very well to win some matches against older boys.

Mini Tennis Orange League
For 9yrs and under, Saturday 3rd March 2007

17 youngsters took part. 6 of them from Eardisley. In the girls section Ellie Smith was 1st. Rowan Prtichard was 2nd and Henry Watson was 3rd in the boys section with Louis Smith, Zack Edelstyn and Jack Bullock also playing very well. Congratulations to you all.

October 2006

LTA Performance Training Camp

Two junior members, Will Haines and Adam Bowen, were selected by the LTA to take part in a one day, performance training camp at Pershore Tennis Club. Both the boys have LTA ratings and enjoyed this experience of high level coaching.

Mini Tennis Accreditation

The club are delighted to have been awarded Mini Tennis Accreditation from the Hereford & Worcester Lawn Tennis Association. This means Eardisley club has joined a small group of clubs in H&W who have reached a set, high standard of facility, coaching, tournaments and all year round programme for young children. Members of the club have been working hard towards this standard for the last 4 years and are pleased and encouraged to have achieved this award.

Junior Tournaments

Junior Tournaments took place during the summer holidays and beginning with the youngest members the results were:- Group 1: Cerys Mealand, Jess Nicholas and Tom Haines (still to finish) - Group 2: 1st Rowan Pritchard, 2nd Maia Hughes, 3rd Leonie Horwood,4th Alex Penning. Group 3; 1st Sandy Stewart, 2nd Dominic Horwood, 3rd Henry Watson, 4th Matthew Vereker. Group 4: 1st Ellie Smith,2nd Beth Mealand,3rd Milly Harrison. Group 5; 1st Adam Bowen, 2nd William Haines, 3rd Harry Horlock, 4th Jacob Murray. Group 6: 1st Oliver Blandford, 2nd David Penney, 3rd Douglas Like, 4th William Morris. Group 6: Final to be played between Alistair Johnston and James Penney. 3rd & 4th play off Jay Hughes and Ryan Nicholas.
